'Mangal' is an Indian concept that means blessings, new beginnings and good vibes. Just like we say in Denmark: "There's a new day tomorrow", in India we say 'Mangal'. It is the symbol that life always gives us a second chance.
My goal with the SDG collection is twofold: Firstly, we want to spread the message of the SDGs so that they are adopted and implemented, and secondly, we want to put production where it makes a difference. Today, there are 400 million people in the 'handmade sector' who do not have access to formal education, but who know a craft that provides them with an income. These are the people we want to work with.
We have personally visited all our workshops and therefore know with certainty that working conditions and wages are decent, that production is environmentally friendly and that the metals are recycled.
We are proud that our production makes a difference and continue to look for workshops around the world where we can contribute to a better future.
